I’m Andy or Andrew or Drew. I’ve been a Director here at the senior center for a little over a year now. Kind of got lucky to find the job wasn’t looking for this kind of position but could not be happier to have this opportunity to be a part of something that’s not only necessary in our community but a real blessing.

About Andrew Blalock

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

I was found by my wife living in Alaska after reconnecting with her I decided to move back to Tennesee. So I’ve been happily married now for 4 years and I am the more than blessed stepdad of 7 kids. 4 boys and 3 girls. There ages range from 21 to 10.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

My background of career has been a plentiful and colorful one. From growing up on a farm my father always said be a man of many hats. So my career path has taken me from factory work, sales, office work, and finally got my degree in business management and culinary arts. Those different choices led me to work all over the United States. Finally ending me up working and living in Alaska.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

I don’t believe you have to be better than everyone else. I believe you need to be better than you could be.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

Hopefully still working here at the center.
